5. Californication (Showtime - 2007 - Dramedy)


David Ducovny plays character Hank Moody who is a semi-famous Los Angeles writer from New York City. The procrastination of his new book leads Moody to explore his sexual desires. This affects his former wife Karen, who is played by Natascha McElhone. This playboy lifestyle also affects Hank's lawyer Charlie Runkle, played by Evan Handler.

Season one is known for it's controversial scene where Hank encounters a nun in a church. There has been talk about removing this scene from the Californication DVDs.

The one pride Hank Moody does not take for granted is his daughter Becca. Because of Hank's liberal affairs with women, Becca's Mom doesn't think Hank would continue to be a good role model. This adult comedy is both entertaining and will make any viewer reminisce about California's beauty as a state.

4. Weeds (Showtime - 2006 - Dramedy)


Weeds is a TV series about a suburban, mother of 3, who experiences the hardships of being a widow after her husband's unplanned death. Nancy Botwin, played by Mary-Louise Parker, has to deal with her financial situation by becoming the neighborhood pot dealer. All the while Nancy tries to protect her new profession from her best friend Celia Hodes, played by Elizabeth Perkins.

The town of Agrestic, California even has the city councilman Doug Wilson, played by Kevin Nealon, buying from the main character to support his own habit.

The Botwin boys are going through a rough time growing up with out a dad. They quickly become part of their mom's empire. Nancy and the boys take viewers on a comedic journey through a practical, yet elusive, means of living in this Showtime hit series.

3. Simpsons (FOX- 1989 - Comedy)


Now the longest airing, American television series on primetime, the Simpsons show is still going strong in 2010 and is better than ever! Matt Groening, the creator of the TV show, has the main cast set up for episodes that are already produced one year in advance.

After the Simpsons movie was released in 2007, viewers knew the famous Fox family would be around for a long time to come.

Taking the Simpsons TV series into it's twenty second season will mean more special features. Some features already include the Simpsons in high definition, a new opening credit sequence, and 3D effects that allow the camera to pan through the entire city of Springfield. This is a must for anyone into what is considered on of the best TV shows of all time.

2. Seinfeld (FOX- 1990 - Comedy)


Speaking of the best TV shows of all time, we cannot leave out Seinfeld. Even though the show has experienced it's final season and is not making anymore new episode, the Seinfeld show will continue to be aired on primetime. This means that new Jerry Seinfeld fans are more than welcome to get into this hit TV show series. Better late than never.

Lasting to season nine, Jerry Seinfeld and his friends explore life's nuances as they happen. The scene is set on Jerry Seinfeld's apartment block. Here, Cosmo Kramer, George Costanza, and Elaine Benes (Jerry's good friends), take viewers on a practical journey through a show about nothing.

Show creator Larry David added Seinfeld as a co-writer so the show's evergreen humor would last throughout the ages. The entertainment value is truly remarkable and makes 30 minute episodes seem like no more than 10 minutes. Truly, time flies when having a laugh with Seinfeld.

Then you need watch Dexter free from all distractions. The Dexter TV show is about a blood spatter analyst, who works for the forensics department of the Miami Metro Police Department. Dexter Morgan is also a serial killer.

In Dexter, season one, audiences watch Dexter online, in his apartment, carefully planning his next murder. He has this system, called The Code of Harry (Dexter's father), which protects him from getting caught. Dexter reviews anywhere will tell you this television show is nothing short of thrilling, and suspenseful yet witty and comical.
